Welcome

This week in assembly, we have being thinking about respect and how to "live" this school value. We have been considering how the way that we act and speak gives signals to other people about how we respect them. We thought about our three school rules (Be Safe, Be Responsible and Be Respectful) support us in everything we do at school. We also reflected on how the various school routines we have (such as "STAR positions" and "Magnificent moving") help us show respect to each other. We regularly practice and discuss these aspects of school life in class and assemblies. Indeed, we are often told by visitors or when we go on trips around Bristol that our children are notable for how respectful they are- an aspect of VPPS that makes us particularly proud.

Values Certificates

This week, Values Certificates were awarded to Lukas, Nina, Muad, Artie, Tamara, Summer, Sid, Phoebe, Yazid, Maya, Rowan and Freddie.

Attendance and Punctually

Overall school attendance: 96.6%

The classes with the best attendance last week were:

1st	Lime	99.64%
2nd	Elder	99.31%

The classes with the least number of late marks last week were:

1st	Elder	0
2nd	Acer	1
3rd	Birch	2

It is less than a month till BS3’s premier art event. On Saturday 3rd of October we are once again opening our doors to show off the fantastic art of our pupil community.

Over the next few weeks children from reception to Year 6 will be hard at work combining creativity, determination and team work to produce something fantastic for the crowds. With the support of Lucy and Beth from ArtLab the sky is the limit and I hope you are looking forward to seeing the final pieces as much as we are.

Next week, the workshops will be:

Monday 21st: Year 1 and Year 5
Tuesday 22nd: Year 3 and Reception
Thursday 24th: Year 5 and Year 3
Friday 25th: Year 6 and Year 2

In the last week, the workshops will be:

Monday 28th: Year 4 and Reception
Tuesday 29th: Year 6 and Year 1

The children are likely to be using a lot of paint (and other interesting mediums) on some large surfaces during the workshops. On the day your child is doing their workshop, to prevent uniforms being covered in paint, they can bring in some old clothes (that you don't mind getting messy) to change into during the workshop.
