Curriculum Newsletters

Each term we provide a Curriculum Newsletter per year group. These are written by class teachers and give an overview of the learning that will be taking place each term in your child's class. Here are the curriculum newsletters for this term from Reception to Year 6.

Diwali Celebration

Diwali - the Hindu Festival of Lights, took place during half term.  This week we have been marking it by participating in Diwali related activities in school. Today, to help the feeling of celebration, all children were invited to wear their special celebration clothes to school (non-school uniform). Some of the craft from the week is pictured below.

Attendance and Punctuality

We made a great start to the year for Attendance and we are currently above our 96% target which is fantastic.  The winners of the Term 1 attendance prize are Bay class.  The class with the least number of late marks over the term was Hazel class.  Well done to both classes, they will get £30 for the children to decide what to buy for their classrooms or for a class treat.

Learning Plans

At the end of last term we reviewed all pupils with SEND's learning plans and the provision that is in place to support them. If your child has one of these plans, please make sure you read through the plan and speak to your child's class teacher should you have any questions or concerns.

PTFA Fundraising- Bonfire Night in Victoria Park

A massive "thank you" to Owen, Dan and all of the volunteers who ran the Bonfire Bar during the Bonfire Night in Victoria Park last Tuesday evening. Thank you also to Bristol Beer Factory who donated refreshments for free to be sold on the bar. Through these efforts the PTFA raised a whopping £3000 for the school! As always, we are really grateful to the PTFA for their hard work to raise funds to support enrichment and special events in the school.

Next week is anti-bullying week across the country.  The theme this year is Choose Respect.  We will be joining in with Odd Sock Day on Tuesday and we invite all the children to wear their craziest, brightest odd socks to school.  School uniform should still be worn.

Children in Need

On Friday 15th November we will be joining in to raise money for Children in Need.  In line with this year's theme, the school council have organised for Children and Staff to dress as a Gladiator/Superhero or wear something spotty.  Donations can be made via the parent gateway or cash on the day.

Our school Pudsey collection point will be making a reappearance again this year.  Last year we did an amazing job at trying to fill it with loose change and we would love to do the same again this year to raise as much money as we can.

Active Travel at Victoria Park

We love our community to walk, cycle and scoot to school instead of driving.

Below is our active travel 'walking bubble' which shows the radius for a 5 minute walk to school. If you live within the circle and don't already walk, please think about walking to school to help our community be safer and healthier.
