Welcome to our school website - please come in and take a look around. You can click on "Newsletters" to see our weekly school newsletter and termly curriculum newsletters.

In assemblies, we have been looking at a range of celebration days that have been taking place this week. Firstly, in our whole school assembly, we looked at the Hindu Festival of Holi. We explored why it is important to Hindus and how it is celebrated. We also looked at its connections with our school community as well as the Holi events taking place in Bristol. We also reflected on how there are similarities with the other significant events taking place in our community at the moment, such as Lent, Ramadan and Lunar New Year.
In our Phase Assemblies, we looked at two very different celebratory events. On Tuesday, Key Stage 2 explored World Wildlife Day and its themes of celebrating the world's many and beautiful and varied forms of wild fauna and flora. And on Thursday, Key Stage 1 thought in depth about their love of reading as part of the wider events in the school to celebrate World Book Day.
Thank you to all of our parents and carers for helping the children get ready for World Book Day, whether it was getting dressed up or helping them choose their favourite book to bring into school. We know that it can be a headache to juggle these type of events with busy home lives but it is appreciated. You contributed to a brilliant atmosphere around the school on Thursday which helped to make it a lovely community event as well as a celebration of reading.

Congratulations to his week's Values Certificates winners: Elijah, Louis, Lucy, Lottie, Marwas, Ewan, Bruce, Elliot, Nina, Isra, Dara and Mo!

World Book Day 2026
This week we have loved celebrating our enjoyment of reading for World Book Day!
The children looked fantastic in their costumes, with so much creativity on display - take a look at the photos below to see some of the brilliant book characters who joined us in school. It was wonderful to see the excitement around books, with children sharing favourite stories, talking about characters they love, and enjoying reading together throughout the day.
Today the children will also receive their World Book Day £1 book token. These tokens can be exchanged for one of the special World Book Day £1 books, or used to get £1 off any full-price book or audiobook (as long as the book or audiobook costs at least £2.99) at participating booksellers. It’s a great opportunity to choose a new story to enjoy at home.
We hope the children continue to share their love of reading and enjoy choosing their next book!
Year 4 - 6 Travelling Light Workshop
Last week, Year 4, 5 and 6 pupils enjoyed a fantastic visit from Travelling Light Theatre Company, who delivered their immersive experience 'The Forest Door'. The performance followed Belinda Bear on a quest through the magical forest, where they met a variety of creatures preparing for a special festival. Our pupils were thoroughly engaged throughout, with brilliant audience participation. A particular highlight for many children was the ‘Disco Frog’, who had the whole hall laughing and joining in with the celebration at the end. It was a joyful, energetic experience and a wonderful opportunity for our pupils to take part in live theatre.
Year 3/4 football Team
The Year 3/4 football team have participated in a football tournament organised by the Ashton Park School Sports Partnership over the last three weeks. We were able to enter two teams into the tournament who both represented the school brilliantly. The teamwork, development and skill demonstrated was fantastic to see. All of the children should be incredibly proud of how well they played across the weeks and the resilience they showed. An extra mention has to go to the green team, who came third overall in the competitive league, which is a fantastic achievement!
Practice Makes Perfect
Well done to Haroun in Year 4 who won an award this week for reading the whole of the Quran. It has taken him almost two years of study!
Well done to Lexie and Alex who performed on the piano in front of the whole school during assembly today!
Earth Day Help Needed
We'd love to invite people from our community to help us celebrate Earth Day on Wednesday 22nd April.
We'd love to learn about sustainability initiatives, wildlife experiences, local projects and real problems to show how people are working in the ‘real world’ to support nature and tackle environmental challenges to inspire children and get them thinking. Do you do this or do you know anyone who does?!
Please contact Mrs Walker via the school office.
