Christmas Fayre Volunteers- A Plea from the PTFA
The PTFA are in desperate need for volunteers to run stalls for the rescheduled winter fair this coming Wednesday afternoon. Cook up a hot dog outside with Josh Eggleton or play some games indoors! Shifts are split in half so that you can still enjoy the fair as well as helping out.

This week's school value has been respect. In assembly this week, we discussed mutual respect and the importance of treating others as we would like to be treated, in both our words and actions. As usual, adults have been on the look out for children who have acted as role models, displaying this value during the school day. Value certificates will be awarded for this on Monday as our end of week Celebration Assembly has been postponed today due to the hall being used to "Rock Out" today (see below)!
Reception Christmas Singing
Yesterday, Willow and Cherry gave a Christmas Singing performance in the main hall. The children sang a number of Christmas favourites to a huge audience of parents, carers and other family members. The singing was brilliant and the children can be very proud of their performance. Thank you everyone who came to watch- what a lovely way to start our VPPS Christmas events!
Year 5 Trip to the Bristol Old Vic
This week Year 5 were fortunate enough to go to the Bristol Old Vic to watch a play called Little Red and Other Winter Tales. It was a fabulous immersive production that the children all loved! They also demonstrated all of our school values as respectful audience members, doing us all proud!
Rock Steady Band Performances
The school has been rocking today to the sounds of our Rock Steady bands who performed live throughout the day in our main hall. Our bands played for packed audiences of parents, carers and the rest of the school. Their performances were superb! Thank you to Stan and his colleagues from Rock Steady as well as Mr Mepsted for making the show happen.

Wanted for Reception Classes
Reception are looking to enhance their role play area and are looking for good quality cups, plates, tea sets (not plastic), small pots, pans and children’s cooking utensils (Any IKEA children’s kitchen equipment is perfect), dolls and dolls clothes as well as wooden or realistic food. If you have anything at home that your children no longer play with and are happy to donate, please hand to either Cherry or Willow class teachers in the playground.
Attendance and Punctuality
We have had a difficult few weeks for attendance with lots of bugs and viruses doing the rounds. Hopefully the upcoming holidays will give everyone a chance to rest and recharge ready for a fresh start in January. The last week of term is just as important as all the other weeks so it is still important for children to attend every day next week if they can.
Important Dates for Term 2
Remember that you can see all of the term dates and INSET days on the term dates page of this website. These and other important dates are also on the website calendar.
