Welcome to our school website - please come in and take a look around. You can click on "Newsletters" to see our weekly school newsletter and termly curriculum newsletters.
This week's value is determination. In Monday's assembly, we learnt about the legendary cricketer-turned bodybuilder who raised awareness of Motor Neurone Disease, David 'Syd' Lawrence. We took some key messages from his story of determination: believe in yourself — even when things go wrong; keep working hard, even after setbacks; find new ways to shine when old paths close; help others and inspire change.
Because of last week's INSET Day, there were two sets of Values Certificates handed out this week. On Monday, Values Certificates were awarded to Ali, Finlay, Josh, Luke, Elliot, Lucy, Poppy, Macsen, Izzy, Toby, Amelia, Charlie and Elliot. Today, Values Certificates were awarded to Harriet, Lucy, Nate, Eli, Rae, Tilly, Uzziah, Esme, Toby, Cece and Henry. It was also noted that all the children in Year 4 Basecamp have shown determination in their activities. Well done to all of these children.
Mulberry Class Nature trip
Last week Mulberry class enjoyed their third and final visit to Watercress Farm. We had a wonderful day in the great outdoors, where we saw wild deer, ate popcorn cooked on the camp fire, and had a cooling dip in the stream.
Summer Sing at the Bristol Beacon
KS2 choir were lucky enough to perform at the Summer Sing at the amazing Bristol Beacon on Tuesday evening, having rehearsed all day at the venue too. They absolutely smashed their performance, singing 12 songs on the theme of joy alongside over 400 other children on stage. They delighted the huge audience that had come out to see them and it was a truly memorable night! Everyone involved should be unbelievably proud!
Transition Arrangements
We will let all families know who their child's teacher will be on Monday 7th July.
On Wednesday 9th July, children will meet their new class teacher during our 'moving up' morning.
Also on Wednesday 9th July, we will hold an open classroom event so parents and carers can come into school to meet their child's next teacher (and see the classrooms). This will be a brief informal opportunity to come into school from 3:30pm to 4:00pm.
On Thursday 17th July, children will spend a second morning with their new class teacher during our second 'moving up' morning.
Some additional transition activities are then planned for July so children get to know their key adults for the year ahead. Teachers also have dedicated staff meeting time to share transition information with each other.
The Big Summer Sing
The sound of singing has filled every corner of the school this week, as pupils rehearse for our end of year Big Summer Sing. Remember you can come and join us at 2pm in the middle playground on Tuesday 15th July. The gates will open at 1.50pm and will close at 2.05pm on Atlas Road and will remain locked until the end of the performance at 3pm.
After school Clubs
Please be aware that all after school clubs have now finished for Term 5 & 6, with the exception of:
Monday KS2 choir will continue on 7th and 14th July
Tuesday 3D modelling will finish on 8th July
Please check the after school clubs page on the school website for all update information:
Wrong Trouser Day
The school council are organising a fundraising day in aid of the Wallace and Gromit appeal for Bristol Children's Hospital on 16th July. Children and staff are invited to wear "the wrong trousers (or shorts)" to school that day, they can be as creative and crazy as you wish but children must wear school uniform on their top half. We are hoping to raise as much money as we can on this day. There is a suggested donation of £1 for this event which can be paid on the school gateway or cash on the day.
Library Books
As we are nearing the end of the school year, the last day that books can be borrowed from the library will be Friday 4th July. From Monday 7th July we will be collecting all borrowed library books back in. Please make sure your children bring back their library books before Wednesday 16th July. Thanks Mrs Priddis and Miss Jones

Congratulations to Bay class for best attendance last week. Well done also to Mangrove and Maple who had no children late to school last week. We have 2 and a half weeks of school left, it would be great if we could get our whole school attendance up to 95% before the end of term.

The Friendly Cricket Collective
The Friendly Cricket Collective was initially formed by a group of Victoria Park parents 3 years ago, wanting to embrace a friendly form of cricket that fits around family life. We’ve now created a like minded community from across the city.
On Sunday 6th July from 11am at Old Bristollians Cricket Ground, BS8 3TQ, we're bringing the community together for our annual Family Cricket Day. Join us for a classic village cricket experience, perfect for both casual players and complete beginners.
Food will be a pot luck bring and share affair. Picnics and picnic blankets are actively encouraged. There is plenty of space for picnic blankets, and there will also be a variety of garden games to keep everyone entertained throughout the day.
The event is free to attend, with nominal match fees for those wanting to play. So we can make sure we cater for everyone, please book your place(s) now – you won't want to miss this!
