Friday 27th June 2025

In our whole school assembly on Monday, we visited one of our Lyfta Storyworlds to find about Sylvain. Originally from Cote d'Ivoire, Sylvain now lives in London and works on the Underground. He lives alone as his wife and family still live in Africa. Whilst this means he can often be lonely, Sylvain has decided to speak to and welcome all of his customers when they enter his station. He thinks that spreading kindness in this way will benefit everybody as well as himself. We used Sylvain's Storyworld to think about how the way we speak and act towards other, even in small ways, builds a culture of kindness in our school.

We have not awarded Values Certificates this week because the Inset Day today has meant we have not had a Celebration Assembly. However, we have been spotting kindness role models this week and will be giving the certificates out next week instead.

Reception Trip to Weston Super Mare

On Tuesday, Reception enjoyed their trip to WSM where the children spent the day digging, creating and having lots of fun in the sand and sun! We have been reading the books ‘Stella’s Seagull’ and ‘Clean up’ in class and the children took avoiding leaving rubbish on the beach very seriously!

Year 2 Aerospace Trip

On Tuesday, Year 2 visited the Aerospace Bristol museum as part of their history of flight topic. We were lucky enough to go on Concorde and then create a concorde of their own as part of an exciting workshop. We also saw lots of other brilliant flying machines that were built in Bristol.

Year 3 Roman Baths Trip

Year 3 really enjoyed their trip to the Roman Baths last week. The children became Roman engineers for the day and took part in a variety of hands-on activities.

They used a crane to build a pillar, rebuilt the front of a Roman temple, and constructed a Roman arch. The class also used special tools to dig for artefacts and explored technology to locate and identify the original stone used to build the Roman Baths.

As part of the creative activities, the children made Roman mosaics using tiles and dressed up in tunics and cloaks to experience what it felt like to be a Roman.

CST Singing Celebration

On Monday, Year 2 went to the singing celebration at Trinity Academy to sing with Year 2 children from the other primary schools in the trust. They did a great job and sounded amazing!

Attendance and Punctuality

Transition Arrangements

We will let all families know who their child's teacher will be on Monday 7th July.

On Wednesday 9th July, children will meet their new class teacher during our 'moving up' morning.

Also on Wednesday 9th July, we will hold an open classroom event so parents and carers can come into school to meet their child's next teacher (and see the classrooms). This will be a brief informal opportunity to come into school from 3:30pm to 4:00pm.

On Thursday 17th July, children will spend a second morning with their new class teacher during our second 'moving up' morning.

Some additional transition activities are then planned for July so children get to know their key adults for the year ahead. Teachers also have dedicated staff meeting time to share transition information with each other.

CST Parent & Carer Survey

Please find below a link to this year's CST parents and carers survey. This year, we will be closing the survey before the end of term on Monday 30th June at 9.00am. This form asks you about your experience of your child's education. The responses are treated anonymously and confidentially to identify what we are doing well and what we can do better. If you have more than one child at school, you only need to complete the survey once. This survey comes from CST and is the same across all of our schools and academies. Thank you for taking time to complete these questions.
