In whole school assembly this week, we looked at how Pride Month is celebrated every year in June. We learnt what Pride Month is and why it is celebrated, as well as what will be happening in Bristol over the coming weeks. We also thought about how Pride Month highlights everyone's right to be the person they want to be and how this links to our country's laws as well as our own school values and our diverse school community.
In our Celebration Assembly today the following children received certificates for being role models of our school values this week: Finlay, Lottie, Vani, Junior, Bruce, George, Leo, Arezo, Monty, Abdul, Harris, Ferzaan, Mikolaj, Maryam, Frank, Rio, Lilyann, Ali and Finley.

NSPCC Speak Out Stay Safe Programme
We are participating in the NSPCC’s Speak out. Stay safe. Programme this term. Speak out. Stay safe. is a programme for children aged 5-11 which aims to help children understand abuse in all its forms and to recognise the signs of abuse. Children are taught to speak out if they are worried, either to a safe adult or Childline.
This child friendly programme is aligned with the curriculum and consists of age appropriate virtual assemblies and supporting classroom based activities which we have reviewed, alongside NSPCC volunteer led face to face workshops for children aged 6-7 and 9-11. The content is delivered in an engaging and interactive way with the help of the NSPCC mascot Buddy.
This week Early Years and Key Stage 1 had their assembly and Key Stage 2 will have theirs next week. Year 2, 5 and 6 will also be having a workshop led by the NSPCC on 17th June.
