Our curriculum is designed to give all children the knowledge and cultural capital they need to succeed in life. We follow the National Curriculum in a sequential way, where knowledge is taught to be remembered.
Our cumulative curriculum ensures that children build on their knowledge year by year and encourages kindness, curiosity, determination and respect; our school values.
We explicitly teach key vocabulary in every lesson and use knowledge organisers which outline key information and learning points for lessons. These knowledge organisers support children in looking back at prior learning and ensure that key content is there to refer to throughout lessons. Oracy is a key thread throughout our curriculum.
The teaching strategies we use are rooted in the strongest available evidence about how pupils learn and retain knowledge in the long term.

Children will learn about local, national and global historical figures, artists, musicians and scientists and will visit local museums, art galleries, and cultural venues. Music is an integral part of our school life and we aim to provide children with the skills and appreciation which will allow them to develop any form of music they wish to in the years ahead.
To support our children with SEND, high quality teaching is the first step in responding to pupils who have special educational needs. We have high expectations for all our pupils and use the Education Endowment Fund SEND guidance to support all to achieve.
