Thank you everyone for your patience and understanding during what has been a difficult week for everyone in our school community. I know there are different points of view across our school community about the strike action this week. However, I really appreciate how reasonable and understanding all of our parents and carers have been during the last week given the inevitable disruption to your own lives and work as well as your children's education.
I also understand that you are likely to be increasingly frustrated about more disruption to your child's education. As I have said previously, none of our staff have taken this action lightly and are committed to working within our school. As the situation develops, we will continue to carry out risk assessments of the potential level of school opening and try to provide you with information with as much notice as possible about arrangements to help you plan during this difficult period. I hope that resolution to the situation can be found soon, as everybody involved ultimately wants children to be in school.
In happier news today, we were still able to award values certificates in our Celebration Assembly this week. The winners were Zaki, Sophie, Alwyn, Ali, Josh, Ruby, Rae, Omar, Maria, Lukas, Lacey and Rayaan. Well done all of you.

Odd Sock Day
Next week we will be learning about about Anti-Bullying week. The theme this year is "The Power of Good." To kick start the week we are joining with schools across the country and taking part in Odd Sock Day. We invite all our children and staff to wear odd socks to school on Monday. The crazier socks the better!
Children in Need
Next Friday we will be raising money for Children in Need. We are inviting all children and staff to either wear spotty or Pudsey clothes to school on Friday for a suggested donation of £1. Donations can be made via the School Gateway app or cash will be collected on the day. We will also have a Pudsey collection tube, as in previous years, where we will see how high we can fill it with any coins the children are able to bring in.
Attendance and Punctuality
This week we are sharing our attendance for Term 1. It was a good term for attendance and we are really proud that our attendance has remained above the National Average which is 95.4%.
| Whole School Attendance (Year to Date) | 96.4% |
In assembly today we also announced our Class Attendance Winners for Term 1. It was very close between the top 3 places but Lime just stole the prize, well done Lime class. They will receive some money to spend on a treat of their choice.
| Class | Attendance | |
| 1st | Lime | 97.95% |
| 2nd | Hazel | 97.43% |
| 3rd | Maple | 97.38% |
The classes with the least number of late marks on the register for Term 1 were:
| Class | Number of Late marks | |
| 1st | Hazel | 4 |
| 2nd | Birch | 6 |
| 3rd | Maple | 21 |
Well done to Hazel and Birch class who were very close at the top of the table. Hazel class have won some money for a reward of their choice.
Across the school there were 332 late marks in Term 1 which is on average 47 a week. Let's see if together we can decrease the number of children arriving late and missing out on learning time this term.
