Road Safety Week
This week we have been thinking about Road Safety week and how we can make sure we are travelling safely to and from school. In our whole school assembly on Monday, we looked at all the different ways we can keep ourselves safe whether we are walking, scooting, cycling or coming by car. We talked about being respectful of others using the pavements and roads and also how to make sure we are seen, especially with it getting darker much earlier. It was lovely to see lots of families demonstrating good road safety when coming to school this week.
A special shout out to our school crossing patrol Jo for all she does to keep our families safe as they are walking to school.

Values Certificate Winners
Values Certificates are awarded each week to children who are "caught" being role models of one or more of our School Values. The winners are presented with their certificate in our Whole School Celebration Assembly each Friday. This weeks Value Certificate winners are Freddie, Rahma, Ava, Sonny, Jacoby, Jackson, Bee, Elsie, Summer, Harun, Archie, Tom and Walt. Well done all of you!
Paralympic Athlete Visit
Last Wednesday, children from Year 1 to Year 6 took part in a fun fitness circuit to fundraise for new sporting equipment for school. The circuits were led by Katrina Hart, a paralympic sprinter, who also gave the children an inspiring assembly explaining her passion for sport and the opportunities she has as a disabled person. The children had a fantastic morning participating and we can't wait to purchase new equipment thanks to their efforts and the generosity of those who donated.
Year 6 LEAP Ensemble Trip
Year 6 visited Trinity Academy this week to watch the LEAP Ensemble from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire perform. The children had the chance to hear a full orchestra of professional musicians, joined by talented secondary school performers from Trinity, St Katherine’s and BCCS. The ensemble played a wide range of music from different genres, including favourites such as Final Countdown and Mr Blue Sky. It was a fantastic opportunity for our children to see and hear live orchestral music up close.

Parents' Evenings
This term, parents' evenings for children in KS1 and KS2 will take place on Wednesday 26th and Thursday 27th November. This is an opportunity to come into school to see your child(ren)'s books and talk to their teacher about their learning. You should have already received a letter detailing how to book your ten-minute appointment with your child's teacher. Please speak to the school office if you have not received your letter. For children in Reception classes (Willow and Mulberry) your parents' evenings took place last term and you will not be expected to come again in November.
Opportunity To Meet With Our SENDCo During Parents' Evening
In order to book an appointment with our SENDCo during next Wednesday's
parents evening please contact the school office.
You can book an appointment if your child fits the following criteria, all other concerns should be addressed to the class teachers who regularly liaise with the SENDCo:
Your child has an EHCP.
Significant changes to provision are being considered (e.g., reduced/expanded interventions, changes to 1:1 support).
Your child’s needs have recently been reassessed or are in the process of external referral (e.g., Educational Psychologist, Speech & Language).
There are ongoing concerns not resolved through class teacher support.

PTFA Collections for the Winter Fair
The PTFA are collecting donations for some of the Winter Fair stalls. Please know that there is no obligation to donate to all (or any) of these. We appreciate anything that you are able to give.
There will be volunteers in the playgrounds on these dates collecting these items but you can donate any of these things to the office on a date that suits you (up to the 5th December).
Parents of pupils with SEND
You're invited to our in-school peer support session as part of the PINS (Partnerships for Inclusion of Neurodiversity in Schools) project, in collaboration with Bristol Parent Carers to find out more about the project and what it means for your child and your school. You can find out more in this video: https://youtube.com/shorts/tXl33byC-ms
This session is open to all parents and carers of children with neurodivergent needs, such as autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia, Tourette’s, learning disabilities, developmental language disorder, or mental health needs. You don’t need a diagnosis to attend.
It’s a safe and supportive space to share experiences, get advice, and work together on ways to improve inclusion for neurodivergent children in schools and get your family or child any help that you might need.
