Friday 10th October 2025

In our Monday assembly this week, we looked back at the process of producing all of the amazing work for Art on the Hill last Saturday. We reflected on how our value of determination had been essential in order to produce such brilliant pieces for display. We also reminded ourselves that displaying art in a gallery is one of the events we have in our Victoria Park Passport of Opportunities.

It was brilliant to have so many of you come and view the children's work (as well as support the school by buying the various items on offer!) Thank you to Lucy and Beth from ArtLab for running the workshops for the children as well as organising the other workshops on the day. A special thank you to Mark, our site manager, for all his work to hang the work in the gallery. And of course, thank you to the VPPS PTFA for making the event possible.

Congratulations to our Values Certificate winners this week who were Ethan, Sid, Felix, Mabel, Tomek, Nate, Idris, Phoebe, Inayaah, Will, Mo, and Leyla.

Bay Class Nature trip

Bay class had the best day Watercress Farm. We splashed in the steam, got muddy, met the cows, and even made popcorn over the fire!

Harvest Food Donations

This week the school council got underway with their first project of the year; they are organising a Harvest Food donation for the local foodbank.  Harvest is a great time to help those who may be struggling by providing small food donations.  Each class has been asked to collect one item off the list of wanted items for the foodbank.  If you are able to donate, please bring your item into school by Wednesday 22nd October so that we can deliver them to the foodbank before the end of term.  The item that each class has been asked to collect can be found on the poster below.

Well done to Birch class who were the only class who had no children late to school last week.  A reminder to everyone that school starts at 8:45.  We open the doors 5 minutes early to allow children to get into class in time to start their early morning work at 8:45.  This work is really important as it consolidates previous learning, builds reading skills and gets the children ready and engaged for the day ahead.
