Friday 30th June 2023

This week we celebrated Kindness with our VPPS "acts of kindness day" on Wednesday. Children in Reception left positive notes on people's cars. Children in Year 1 walked to "Help Bristol’s Homeless" on Spring Street to donate toiletries they had collected. Year 2 showed kindness to the school environment by completing a litter pick and weeding some of the playgrounds and paths. In Year 3, children delivered poems to nearby residents. Year 4 made positivity posters to display in the windows and on local notice boards. In Year 5, pupils wrote letters to residents in a local nursing home to be delivered soon. Finally in Year 6, pupils showed kindness to the next generation by writing a postcard to every new pupil joining our school in September 2023, which will be posted to their homes.

Sports Day

It's sports day next Monday (3rd July) at Victoria Park! Here is a reminder of the times:

  • Reception at 9:15am-10:00am
  • Year 1, Year 2 & Year 3 at 10:15am-11:45am
  • Year 4, Year 5 & Year 6 at 1:30pm-3:00pm

We would love for you to come and join us to watch, if you can.

Children are allowed to wear their PE kit all day if they wish. If you have a T-shirt in your house colour (RED for Cambell, BLUE for Stephenson, YELLOW for Aardman and GREEN for More) you may choose to wear that, otherwise a white T-shirt is fine. Children in Reception can wear white T-shirts only because they have not been put into houses yet.

Please remember to send children in with a water bottle, sun hat and suncream (if you are happy for them to reapply this themselves).

We are hopeful that the weather will be fine to go ahead, but will postpone to the next day if necessary.

Book Amnesty

Do you have any school books at home? Please return them before the end of the school year so we can organise our book boxes ready for September. Our books are stamped and normally have a coloured or numbered sticker on the book spine. Thank you!

Piano Donation

We have been very fortunate to receive a donation of a Baby Grand Piano, which is now in the music room. This was given to us by a nearby resident. We are very grateful, and would like to say a huge THANK YOU to our generous neighbour!

Did you know that we hire out our hall spaces? At the moment, we have availibility some week nights and at the weekend. We are interested in increasing the number of groups who use our building, because it supports the school budget, and further builds our community links. If you are part of a group or organisation that would like to hire the hall spaces, or if you know anyone who is, please encourage them to contact the school via email for more details: victoriaparkp@victoriaparkprimary.co.uk
