Friday 25th November 2022

It was fantastic to see so many parents and carers at our Parents' Evenings this week. Thank you for taking the time to come and talk about your child(ren)'s learning and to have a look through their books. If you did not make your appointment for any reason, please call into the office or email the school and we will see whether we can arrange an alternative opportunity for you to come in to school.

We will be appointing a new Teaching Assistant to work in Year 4 from January.

What Parents Need to Know about TikTok

This free online safety guide about TikTok comes from National Online Safety and is provided for parents and carers. TikTok is a free social media platform that lets users create, share and watch short videos ranging anywhere from 15 seconds to 10 minutes in duration. The app gained notoriety for its viral dances, trends and celebrity cameos and can be a creative, fun platform for teens to enjoy. Now available in 75 languages, it has more than a billion active users worldwide (as of spring 2022) and is most popular with the under-16 age bracket. In fact, a 2022 Ofcom report found TikTok to be the most-used social media platform for posting content, particularly among young people aged 12 to 17. In the guide, you'll find tips on a number of potential risks such as age-inappropriate content, dangerous challenges and contact with strangers.

A message from Ukraine Christmas Appeal

Hi Victoria Park,

A huge thank you to the pupils, staff and parents at Victoria Park for your generous donations to our Christmas Appeal. Hopefully we will put a smile on the faces of children across Ukraine this Christmas.

Please feel free to pop into our centre on Willway Street on a Saturday or Sunday morning to see who we are and what we do.

Best wishes on behalf of all at From Bristol with Love,

Inclusive Sport in Bristol

This message is from members of the Bristol City youth council; a group of young people elected in February 2022 to represent the young people of Bristol.

My name is Samuel Richards and I have Cerebral palsy and Hearing loss, and the document that is attached is a very personal thing for me. My family and I find it really hard to find disability sport and I never had a chance to look at a document like this, which had all of the disability sports you can access around Bristol. It’s a big passion of mine for all children with disabilities to have access to this document, as I feel like I missed out on these opportunities earlier. Please see the document below so that young people with disabilities don’t miss out on these sporting opportunities.

Event for Bereaved Families this December

At our school we like to go out in all weathers. We rely on children having suitable water-proof coats in school at all times, especially with the recent sudden, heavy downpours. Please ensure your child brings a coat to school each day and that it is labelled with their name on the tag. Have a lovely weekend!
