Friday 27th January 2023

This week in assembly, children thought about Determination and heard the story "The Girl Who Never Made Mistakes" by Gary Rubinstein and Mark Pett. While it may sound wonderful at first, in the story the idea of never making a mistake actually leads to a fear of trying. We agreed that one of the best ways to show Determination is to try hard and accept that mistakes are just another way to learn.

RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch

Big Garden Birdwatch is fun, free and for everyone. And you don’t need a garden to take part! Counting birds from your balcony, or your local park will play a vital role in helping us understand how UK birds are doing. Sign up for your free guide and let's look out for birds together on 27-29 January.
Even in the middle of the city, you'll be surprised at what you see; we have even seen a sparrowhawk in the school playground!

Green Football Weekend 3-5th February

This is a national initiative running to support easy actions to protect the planet. Help Bristol City Football Club score some green goals between now and 6th February by making a pledge or taking some action. It can be as easy as walking instead of using the car or having a meat-free meal. See the website for more information and to help Bristol City fans climb the leaderboard.

Other information

Click this flyer for information about the Bristol Cathedral "Chorister for the Day" event on Saturday 11th March.

We know there are mixed views about the industrial action taking place next week across the education sector, and we would like to thank you for respecting the differing opinions in the community. School will be closed to all pupils on Wednesday 1st February but open as normal on all the other days. In case you missed it, here is the letter from Mr Bailey sent yesterday. Have a lovely weekend.
