Friday 16th December 2022

What a fantastically festive week we have had! On Monday children in KS2 performed at St Michael and All Angels Church, on Tuesday the children from Reception and Year 1 sang Christmas songs to parents and carers, on Wednesday we all enjoyed our Christmas lunch (thank you Vicky and the team!!), on Thursday the Year 2 Nativity performances wowed us all, and today we celebrate the end of this term with Christmas jumpers a-plenty. It's always busy in a Primary school, and I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank every staff member for their unwavering dedication to the children, for going the extra mile every day, and for putting their heart and soul into everything they do. Merry Christmas!

Curriculum Newsletters

Each term we provide a Curriculum Newsletter per year group. These are written by our teachers and give an overview of the learning that will be taking place each term in your child's class. Here are the Curriculum Newsletters for Term 3 (January 2023).

Dodgeball

Last Thursday, sixteen determined children from Year 4 took part in a friendly dodgeball tournament organised by Ashton Park Sports Partnership. Each team played a selection of three 2-minute games to improve their throwing, catching, dodging and team work skills. Each child was awarded stickers when they showed a range of sporting values such as honesty, determination, passion, team work, self-belief and respect. Well done to all the children involved: Leo J, Leo G, Toby, Ehsen, Liddy, Ellen, Myla, Sophie, Ella, Sommer, Arni, Anna, Max, Abdul, Harrison and Elliot.

The Detective Dog

Earlier this year, children in Year 2 took part in a series of workshops to help Tessa Bide Theatre Company write their newest theatre show called "The Detective Dog". This is based on the the picture book by Julia Donaldson. The show features puppetry, live action, and is BSL accessible.

On Monday next week, the theatre company are broadcasting a special recording of The Detective Dog for free (but donations are welcome). This will include an introduction from the actors, including Adam, the Deaf actor from the show who came in to work with the children. After showing the recording, there will be some games and a question/answer session about the show.

The event is on Eventbrite here, and there is a BSL advert on Youtube here.

A Video from Impact Food Group

Whilst Christmas is a wonderful time of year with lots of family time and presents, it can also be very stressful.  Our lovely Chef team have put together the ultimate Christmas go-to guide - talking you through the main elements of your Christmas dinner with some hints to reduce costs and utilise leftovers.

You can click this link… https://youtu.be/8akdryZCvrk or watch the video below. Note, there are chapters you can navigate, as there may be a certain element of the Christmas dinner you are particularly keen to watch.

We hope you have a lovely stress free holiday and look forward to seeing you in the New Year. From all at IFG.

Merry IFG Christmas!
