This term's school value is kindness. Perhaps that is a good way to start our literacy learning this week. Watch the video below and listen to the ideas that the reader mentions as she reads.

Be Kind | A Children's Story about things that matter

What exactly is kindness? What is it to be kind? Is it being helpful? Being polite? Does it have to be a big act to be more kind? Well maybe the smallest act...

The reader mentions some different types of kindness and suggests some different ways of being kind. This week we would like you to think about the different forms of kindness and write a little bit about them each day. We will give you a prompt and ideas for each day.

You don't have to write very much but you can write lots if you want to. We would expect a minimum of 4 sentences for each day. Pay attention to full stops  and using punctuation accurately, so that your writing makes sense to the person reading it. You can always email it over to us to check for you if you have tried your best but are still unsure.

For today, think about where the story says that kindness can be giving.

When have you ever given something out of kindness?

Has anyone ever given you anything to be kind?

What were the feelings and emotions that went along with the experience?

You could make a special effort to be giving today and write about that.

Write at least 4 high quality sentences about that time or that experience. Let us know how it felt for everyone.

Let's get down to some maths.

Firstly, this is a reminder about times tables. If you are finding learning at home difficult, DO NOT ABANDON TIMES TABLES!

Here is the order that we recommend you learn them. By the end of year 3, we hope that you will have learnt up to the 8x table.

Order: 10x, 2x, 5x, 3x, 6x, 4x, 8x

Work out which ones you find tricky and work on them every day! You can do it!

We have put some times table practice in the extra maths folder.

Main Maths of the Day

As usual, if you find it easier to follow the work on bitesize, here is the link:

The rest of us will be continuing to work on fractions. Today and tomorrow will be a bit of revision from before half term but there is a challenge every day.
