Welcome to our school website - please come in and take a look around. Do you know our six school values? They are co-operation, respect, determination, gratitude, honesty and kindness.
Today you are going to be designing a new front cover for Oliver and the Seawigs. You need to think of ways to make people want to pick up the book and find out what happens in the story. Aboveis a picture of the front cover of the book.
Remember to include:
1. The name of the book.
2. The name of the authors.
3. A picture
4. A review sentence from a reader
Once you have drawn the front cover, on the back of your piece of paper, write a short blurb telling potential readers a bit about the book, without giving the story away!
The purpose of a blurb is to grab the attention of potential readers so the vocabulary you choose needs to be exciting and help them build a picture in their mind of what the book is about.
Challenge: Draw a front cover for the adventure story you wrote the opening for on Thursday.
