Welcome to our school website - please come in and take a look around. Do you know our four school values? They are respect, curiosity, kindness and determination.
Eid Mubarak! We have enjoyed our Eid celebration in school today and learned a lot together about how Ramadan and Eid are celebrated, with food, story, music and decorations. Here are a few photographs from across the day.
National Online Safety
This week, we have a guide from National Online Safety entitled "Loneliness Online - what causes it and ways to feel better". Although aimed at children, we would recommend that parents and carers read through the guide so you can support them if necessary.
Request for Volunteers
Can you spare a few hours a week to support our children in school? We currently have a dedicated (but small) group of parent/carer volunteers who come into school to hear children read. We are looking to enhance our provision by expanding the team of volunteers. We are also interested in volunteers who may be available over lunchtimes so we can open some quiet inside spaces for children. Induction and training will be provided, and we would require you to gain an enhanced DBS check. If you are able to help, please email the school office and start your message with the words "FAO Ms Nottage - Volunteering". We look forward to working with you!
A new Secondary School in Knowle
Details are emerging about the long-awaited new secondary school, to be situated on the site of The Park Centre on Daventry Road. We have received this letter about Oasis Academy Daventry Road, which has just received planning consent from Bristol City Council.
Who is picking up?
Please telephone the school office before 2:45pm at the latest if there is a change to who is picking up your child from school. Calling after this time (or not calling at all!) can lead to delays at pick up - we will always need to check.
Advance Notice - Charity Week
During the week beginning 16th May, children in school will be learning about a chosen charity and doing some fundraising of their own. Part of this week will include a sale of items after school on Wednesday 18th May (Reception classes) and Thursday 19th May (all other classes). Children will then have a Maths-focused day on the Friday, counting the small change and calculating how much they have raised. Of course, donations to charity are entirely voluntary, however we wanted to give you advance notice that this is coming up.

Pupil Fundraiser
Oscar in Year 6 has decided to fundraise for British Heart Foundation, in memory of his Grandad who passed away in April. He will be cycling (virtually) 119 miles from his house in Bristol to his grandad’s in Plymouth every day after school in the week of the 16th May; that’s about 2hrs every day after school.
More details and donations here: www.justgiving.com/fundraising/oscar-barnes2
(Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to British Heart Foundation, so it's the most efficient way to give - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.)

Local Skatepark
There is a fundraising campaign about to be launched to refit and revamp the skatepark at the bottom of Victoria Park, which has fallen into disrepair. A local collective who have successfully raised money to revamp areas of Dame Emily Park (aka Dean Lane or The Deaner) are now focusing their efforts on this site. They are currently looking for donations from the local community towards a fundraiser. The campaign is being run by Dan at Campus Skatepark ( Dan@campusskateboarding) and you can find more information on their Instagram page.
