CST Musical Celebration

All year 2 pupils from our family of primary schools joined musical forces today at Trinity Academy, for our musical celebration day. Pupils have been learning songs in school for the last few weeks, and today experienced rehearsing and singing these together with live music accompaniment.  We were lucky to be joined by a number of older students and conservatoire musicians to support. The children also watched a number of ensembles showcasing various instruments and styles of music, including the Trailblazers Orchestra at Trinity Academy, the Bristol Cathedral Choir Big Band and Lotus Chamber Brass from the prestigious Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. The favourite song for most pupils was “It’s Alright” from the hit Disney film Soul which included a Big Band accompaniment arranged by one of our CST Post-16 students. The pupils behaved brilliantly, sang wonderfully and were inspired by the music!

Eid Celebration

This year, we will be holding an Eid celebration in school. This will take place on Friday 6th May 2022. We will have a non-uniform day in which children can wear their Eid clothes (or celebration and party clothes) as well as learning the story of Eid and making decorations. We are hoping to share food during the afternoon - but we need your help! Would you be able to help us by providing or cooking traditional foods or Eid party food, or by coming into school and helping with our celebration? We have a small group of parents already involved and they would love for you to join them. If you can help, please click here to fill in your details. Thank you!

Book of the Week

This week’s recommendation is the Yoto Greenway award-winning book ‘Milo Imagines the world’. This beautifully illustrated book is a window into children’s imaginations. Milo and his sister are taking their monthly Sunday train journey. Milo is a keen observer of all he sees and he is especially interested in the people travelling with them and getting on and off the train. He imagines their lives beyond the trip they are taking and draws them in his sketchbook. A delightful story for creative minds!

House Gymnastics

This week, Year 2 and Year 6 have competed in a House gymnastics competition either completing a vault, jump or routine for their house.  Year 2 added their overall points to their class totals for this week, whereas in Year 6 the winner is Stephenson with 22 points followed by More (21 points), Campbell (18 points) and Aardman (16 points). Well done everyone who showed precision, synchronicity, flair and pointy toes!

Our Neighbours

Please consider our neighbours on your walk to and from school. We have noticed some parents and carers are allowing their children to walk along the front walls of houses. We have also had a phone call from a local resident unhappy that somebody entered her front garden to use her bin.
