Friday 10th September 2021

Welcome to another fantastic year at Victoria Park Primary School! We are excited to be starting the year with a new vision statement and a new set of school values.

Our new vision for Victoria Park Primary School!

A school's vision statement sets out who the school is and where it wants to get to. It is a statement of being as well as a statement of intent. After consulting with staff and pupils, our new vision for Victoria Park was launched this week. Here it is:

At Victoria Park Primary School, we celebrate our differences and teach our children to find their place in the world through respect, curiosity and kindness.

Our calm learning environment breathes warmth, security and creativity.  Our staff nurture a culture of aspiration, determination and a growth mindset in our children.

This opens doors for every child to embrace challenge, take pride in their achievements and be successful.

School Values

We now have four school values, which are part of the vision statement. As always, the values will be reinforced and celebrated with the children in weekly values assemblies and celebrations.

School Shoes

Children have returned to school looking really smart in their school uniforms. As part of their correct uniform, pupils should wear black school shoes. There are lots of school shoes available in shoe shops, supermarkets and online. Children should have a change of shoes in their PE bag for PE lessons.

Yes please:

Black shoes

All black trainers

No thanks:

Brightly coloured footwear

Coloured laces

Logos and motifs

Flip flops, crocs or open backed sandals

Converse

Boots

Alternative collection

If you wish to telephone the office to notify us somebody different will be collecting your child, please do so before 2:30pm. This is so we can get the message to the class teacher in time. We will not let any child go home with an alternative adult without checking with you first.

PTFA Meeting – 16 Sept

PTFA meetings are open to anyone with a child at the school who’d like to help us raise money, build community and help enrich our children’s education. Whether you’ve got ideas to share, or you’d just like to listen in, we’d love to see you!

The next meeting will be held on Zoom from 8:00-9:30pm on Thurs 16 Sept. You’ll need the Meeting ID (860 8965 7346) and Passcode (VPPS) to dial in. We’ll be discussing our plans for our forthcoming events, so do please come along and share your thoughts!

Art On The Hill – 2 Oct

The ever-popular Art On The Hill event is running again this year. The school will be open on 2 Oct from 11am-4pm to showcase some of the student's amazing art work, and the PTFA will be providing refreshments in the school hall, but…

…we need YOUR help! Please get baking and drop your donations of (clearly labelled, and nut-free) cakes into the school office from Thurs 30th Sept – or bring them along on the day.

We also need a team of volunteers to set up, serve refreshments and tidy away on the day. You can sign-up at our events website: www.pta-events.co.uk/friendsofvictoriaparkprimaryschool
