Friday 10th June 2022

Welcome back! Term 6 has started with a typically busy week in school, with children learning about their new enquiry topics. Year 1 pupils have been showing their teachers what they have learned about letters and sounds, by taking part in the Phonics Screening Check this week. Also this week, pupils in Year 4 have started their Multiplication Tables Check, which they do on an iPad. All the pupils have shown a positive attitude and determination. Finally, lots of year 3 pupils have been on their first ever school camp this week, staying over for one night on Thursday. Take a look at the pictures on twitter to see what they have been up to!

Summer Fair Planning
Our next Summer Fair Planning Meeting will take place on Zoom from 7:30-9:00pm on Thurs 16 Jun. You’ll need the Meeting ID (860 8965 7346) and Passcode (VPPS) to dial in.

If your business would be able to donate or sponsor a raffle prize, please e-mail Jane and Claudia at vppsraffle@gmail.com if you can help. Volunteer slots will be going up on our website soon!

PTFA Committee Changes and AGM
We'll be appointing a new Chair and a new Treasurer at our AGM (7:30-8:30pm on Thurs 23 Jun in the community room in the middle playground). If we can’t fill these positions the PTFA will fold – that could mean the end of “Play in a week” for Yr3 & Yr4, and would throw VPPS participation in the Lantern Parade into doubt – just two of the many, many enrichment activities that the PTFA funds each year.

If you’d like to stand for election, or you’d like to know more about what’s involved please contact victoriapark.ptfa@gmail.com. Perhaps you and a couple of friends could stand for election together?
